I am honored that I get to start this letter without saying, "We changed our hours, we closed early, we are short staffed, no one wants to work, etc." Many conversations this year have been centered around those exact things! At Berdoll's none of those happened! We worked together with our dedicated staff and worked hard by running specials, always updating and adding new products to our website, kept the store super clean and looked for ways to improve! Without dedicated, flexible staff we would not have achieved this- Beyond thankful for our work family!!!!
On to pecans! Despite lots of packaging, labor, and material increases we held prices down til August this year. I did not want to jump on the bandwagon of everything else is increasing, we must too. I held off as long as possible. We love to hear from our long term customers about the high quality of our products, and if you are new, welcome to the best pecans in Texas!!!! All of the chocolate pecans, shelled pecan halves, chocolate caramel clusters, pecan brittle, homemade caramel, and more are hand touched by humans in our 9000 square foot factory! If you enter our retail store you can probably smell the aroma of honey glazed pecans rotating in the kettle or pecan pies baking in the kitchen. If you are far away rest assured that every product you order from us starts with the pecan in the shell, then graded, cracked, shelled, candied and packaged right here in our facility! It is pretty fascinating!!!
The most improvements this year have been in our factory! My husband, Jared, is quite the handyman! Not sure how he knows how to fix, build, re-build, take apart, put back together, the list goes on and on. I do not understand half of it, but working with your husband I just listen, nod my head and support!!!! He does the same with me as I talk about reports, questionnaires, interviews, rebranding logos, new computers, catalog photo days, etc.
What most long term customers like to read... Our family! No new additions! All healthy and happy!!!
We took a family ski trip together in February 2022 and family beach trip in May 2022. 17 total makes
for tons of family fun!!! Hal and Lisa are doing great! Summers are the best with grandkids in and out of
their house begging for late night swims, time in the arena, buggy rides, and lots of sleepovers! I can
guarantee you they are not told no, EVER!!! Jared and I are doing well. Hard to believe our kids are
growing up! Logan (6th grade) plays lots of sports, but his favorite is wakeboarding and wake surfing.
Halle (3rd grade) loves volleyball and softball and tumbling at home- she gave up cheerleading because
she missed Logan's football games and wants to cheer for him (so sweet). Austin (kindergarten) is going
to play basketball and baseball! We still think he is our baby!
Kylene and Will are our rodeo, country crew!! Chasing their kids and tearing up the road! Kyndall (6th
grade) plays select basketball, is the biggest supporter of her brother and sister in their activities, and is
an incredible baker! Kenzie (4th grade) is our rodeo cowgirl! Not sure how she can go so fast on a horse,
but watch for her in the coming years. Mason (kindergarten) plays soccer, basketball and baseball and
rides horses, ropes calves, and is bare foot most of the time! Brandon and Brandi are working hard to
keep up with Berdoll Sawmill orders. They just built me a beautiful kitchen island out of pecan wood!
Clay (5th grade) loves baseball, fishing and hunting. Emily (2nd grade) loves gymnastics and any and all
animals, and Luke (3.5 years) plays soccer, but loves every ball! He has lots of big cousins to keep up
with!
