| Hal, Lisa, Brandon, Brandi, Kylene, Will, Jennifer and Jared | Brandon, Brandi, Hal, Jennifer, Jared, Lisa, Kylene, Will | Dear Friends, What a blessing 2009 has been. It is very hard to compete with the great letters my mom has written for the past 25 years. I will try my best!
As Hal & Lisa started mentioning selling the pecan store that my brother, sister, and I had practically grew up in I had very mixed feelings. I thought the opportunity that came my way 4 years ago to manage the retail store was exciting. Little did I know more excitement would come in 2009. They gave my husband, Jared, and I the opportunity to purchase the store and keep some of my favorite things in life continue…Chocolate pecans, chocolate covered strawberries, and our famous pecan pies!
Jared and I are continuously looking for ways to expand. We just recently started selling our candy products wholesale and look for that to really take off.. In January 2009 by request we started making chocolate pecan pies, in February we added a huge display of over 20 different candied fudge flavors including chocolate pecan, chewy pecan praline, dark chocolate raspberry and sucrose free fudge for diabetics. In July we started making a sugar-free pecan pie that is out of this world.
| | We still remain a family run business with Jared and I owning the retail store, and Hal & Lisa growing our big meaty pecans. Jared is in training to run the shelling plant that we plan to build and is constantly thinking of ideas for the new candy making factory that we will build next to our store in a few years. I am addicted to the pecan store and love it! However, exercise is my release. In our spare time Jared and I like to go out on the boat and play with our dog, Riley. Hal still has the largest pecan tree nursery in the world topping right at 150,000 trees. Lisa has more free time now, but enjoys seeing her long time customers at the store, exercising, and running around town to get parts to keep all the pecan machinery going. My twin brother Brandon has found his love, building. He has started making custom furniture and milling logs particularly out of pecan wood, while his wife Brandi manages the retail store and is responsible for the creative displays and creative fudge flavors that we have in the store. My sister Kylene and her husband Will have moved to Florence, Texas. Kylene is a massage therapist while her husband works for Austin Police Department. They have found their love…. Goats and sheep. They currently have over 150 animals and often have at least 10 of them inside being bottle fed.
We have added many gift items to our website and continuously have new products in our retail store. Our store is located 10 miles east of the Austin airport on Highway 71.
